4 more Covid-19 deaths in El Paso as fully-vaccinated rate nears 46%

EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso public health officials announced four new Covid-19 deaths Saturday to raise the county's pandemic death count to 2,567.

The latest victims included a man in his 50s, two women in their 60s and a woman in her 70s.

Officials also reported 82 additional coronavirus cases for a pandemic tally of 134,752 cases, with 1,877 of those infections currently active.

There were 124 El Pasoans hospitalized on Saturday due to virus-related illness, with 38 of those patients listed in intensive care and 31 requiring the use of ventilators.

On the vaccination front, health leaders indicated nearly 46% percent of eligible El Pasoans ages 16 and older had now been fully vaccinated, with nearly 66% partially vaccinated as of Saturday.
