El Paso woman who walked away from car crash unhurt dies hours later of breathing trouble

MGN

EL PASO, Texas -- A 71-year-old El Paso woman whose car was struck by another vehicle on the day before Thanksgiving has died of injuries from that crash, police said Monday.

Lilian Arrington is the city's 62nd traffic death of 2019, authorities indicated.

Investigators said Arrington's car was turning at the intersection of Sunnyside and Alabama but failed to yield the right of way to another vehicle and her car was struck.

Police said neither driver in the crash reported being injured at the time, and both went on their way afterwards.

However later in the day, authorities said Arrington experienced difficulty breathing and 911 was called to her home. When fire department medics arrived, they found Arrington "without signs of life." She was later pronounced dead.

The medical examiner has indicated to police that Arrignton's death apparently stemmed from the traffic crash.
