She plans to study Kinesiology and continue her education to become a Physical Therapist. She was inspired to become a physical therapist during her junior year after her season ending injury with a torn ACL. She has committed and signed to play Volleyball at Sul Ross State University.

Joshua Lopez, Ysleta High School: Joshua attends Ysleta High School, where he’s been on the varsity football team and track team. He was named to the 2nd Team All District team for football. He made it to regionals with the relay team last year for Track. He is in the top ten percent of his class. He plans to attend college to study engineering though he hasn’t decided where he’s going. He’s been accepted to UTEP, NMSU, UTSA, St. Mary’s University and Our Lady of the Lake.
Isaac Flores, Parkland High School: Was part of the Parkland High basketball team, 1st team all district his senior year. He helped his team to win the District and Bi- District championships for their school in the 2018-2019 school year. He also was a lifeguard and a referee at the YMCA in helping local youth develop the fundamentals of basketball until the YMCA was closed down due to the pandemic. He will continue his education at EPCC and pursue his career in law enforcement.
Lauren West, Eastwood High School: Lauren West, a senior at Eastwood High School is a 3 year letterman on the volleyball team. She was a member of the team that made it to playoffs 3 consecutive years and and won Bi- District twice. She was named Most Outstanding Libero in District 2-5A her Junior year and was First Team All District 2-5A her Senior year. She will be attending UTEP in the Fall where she plans to pursue a career in nursing.

James Hernández, Eastlake High School: James is a senior at Eastlake High School and it breaks my heart to see him not be able to enjoy his senior year to the fullest. James leaves to Texas A&M this summer to pursue his degree in communications and to be an Air Force Cadet in the Aggie Corps of Cadets program. He has been involved in band all four years of high school as a low brass player and drum major, and James has an audition with the Texas A&M Band this coming May. He has dedicated a large portion of his time to being the Editor-in-Chief of his school’s yearbook, an active member of National Honor Society, UIL Academic programs, and of course his studies where he ranks among the top 20 in his class. As a mother it is heartbreaking to see him preparing to leave without being able to experience and appreciate all of his senior year festivities. Our family is very proud of him and would like to do as much as possible to celebrate him and his accomplished years of high school. Love you James!!! -Maria Hernandez

Giovanni is now signed on with the NAVY and is due to leave for basic training late June to serve our country. We are so very proud of our son in all his accomplishments and pray God guide him in the next part of his journey. GO MATADORS!
Jessica Amezaga, Burges High School: Jessica is a 4 year letterman in basketball and the Class of 2020 from Burges High School. She is a recipient of the Flo Hyman Award for her accomplishments on and off the court. She has made All District and El Paso Times All City. She is a member of National Honor Society, works with her little charges in the CDL class at Burges. She recently signed to play basketball and study nursing at Concordia University in Austin.

Anthony held a 3.8 EPA and will be attending Western New Mexico University (silver City)in the fall on a football scholarship. We are very excited for him and proud of his accomplishments. Anthony is excellent athlete and an even better young man with a kindest of souls. He's a great role model for his younger brother, sister, cousins and other young athletes.

Gabriel Spalloni, Franklin High School: Gabriel Spalloni will graduate from Franklin High School this May. In fall, he is attending UTEP to pursue a Multi-Media-Audio and Visual degree. He would like people to remember him as honest, funny, and artistic. His favorite baseball memory was Sophomore year, JV team, beginning of season tournament in the away dugout. As the players waited between games, they reenacted the whole Nacho Libre movie and laughed so hard. To quote Nacho Libre, “It was best. I love it!” In ten years, at 28, he plans to have a nice home, work full time, have at least three dogs, and be in a relationship with a lovely lady. His advice to underclassmen, " Don’t take the moments for granted."

Brian Gonzalez, Montwood High School: I am a proud father of an "exceptional" boy - Brian Gonzalez. He is from Montwood High and Rams Early College. Recently found out that he is Valedictorian. He already got his Associate of Arts from EPCC with a GPA of 4.0. He currently has a 103 GPA while at Montwood. He wants to get his Masters in Electrical Engineering at UTEP. Not only are his academics exemplary, but his attendance as well - perfect attendance since kindergarten!

His loyalty for 5 years with the RHS marching band and jazz band has earned him to become one of the best drummers in El Paso. He will be attending UTEP in the Fall and looks forward in majoring in Marketing.

Peter Molinar is a Senior at Tornillo High School. He is in the top 10% of his class, is the Quaddrummer in the Tornillo Marching Band and is the Varsity Tennis Captain. He was accepted to attend Texas A & M Universityand will be majoring in Aerospace Engineering.

The current coronavirus pandemic has put a damper on the plans for high school seniors in the Borderland.

However, ABC-7 is sharing with our viewers photos of some of the seniors from the class of 2020.
