Witnesses say shots fired in east El Paso overnight happened near a high school graduation party

UPDATE: A witness who did not want to be identified told ABC-7 he was at a high school graduation party when multiple shots were fired.

"A lot of people were scared, a lot of them thought they were shooting at us," said the witness. "It's a graduation party, you know? Why would you shoot up a graduation party?"

The witness said he heard almost 20 shots as a large group of teenagers stood nearby.

Neither witnesses nor police have confirmed the identities of the victims, and the investigation is still underway.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA)- According to El Paso police, the gang unit is investigating a shooting that sent a male and female to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

It happened in east El Paso at the 11200 block of Wharf Cove Drive Sunday at around 12:48 a.m.

Police say no suspects are in custody at this time.

The investigation continues, no further information was released.
