EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Both candidates vying to become El Paso's next District Attorney were guests on ABC-7 Xtra Sunday night.
Yvonne Rosales and James Montoya are in a run-off election. Early voting is now underway. Election day is July 14.
The winner of the race will replace current DA Jaime Esparza. Esparza has held the position for nearly three decades, and is retiring.
Rosales and Montoya were asked about how they would handle the case against Patrick Crusius. He's the suspected gunman charged with killing 23 people and injuring dozens more on Aug. 3.
Montoya is a county prosecutor. Rosales is a private attorney.
