EL PASO, Texas -- New details and video emerged Friday about what led up to the arrest of controversial El Paso businessman William "Billy" Abraham on drunk driving charges on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a police complaint affidavit obtained by ABC-7, police responded to reports of a "drunk disturbance" at the El Paso Times building in the Union Plaza area of downtown.

ABC-7 also obtained a viewer video that showed Abraham's arrest outside the Times building for what police said was "unlawfully operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated." (Watch it in the video player at the top of this article.)

According to the complaint document, officers arrived to Abraham’s vehicle parked the wrong way and with its left tires up on the curb; Abraham was sitting on the driver side with the door open and smelling like alcohol.

A witness told police that Abraham walked into the front lobby of the Times building and was yelling, causing a disturbance. Police also said Abraham refused to take a field sobriety test.

Abraham has a previous drunk driving conviction in the past decade that stemmed from a deadly hit and run case.

Abraham will have to go to court next week as he is currently on probation for tampering with evidence on a case related to a building he formerly owned.
