Cincinnati District bar troubles dominate EPPD town hall meeting

EL PASO, Texas — The El Paso Police Department held the first in a series of town hall meetings with the various command posts across the city.

Thursday evening's meeting focused on EPPD's Westside Regional Command Center and triggered a lengthy discussion over recent troubles in the Cincinnati Entertainment District, a portion of which you can see in the video player at the top of this article.

Commander Steven Lopez gave a presentation about crime on El Paso's west side and available police services, as well as fielded questions from the public.

That public discussion was dominated by complaints from those living in the Kern Place neighborhood about problems with bars in the adjacent Cincinnati District, which residents said has become a magnet for crime.

You can watch the entire meeting in the video player below.

    1. Right on!! I have noticed the same. EPPD cops go on a speed trap/ticketing rampage during the weekdays, but you never see them doing that in the evenings and weekends. If they want an 8 to 5 weekday job, then they need to get an office job and stop bilking our taxes. Allen needs to go!!

  1. IS LE ONLY 8AM TO 5PM? LOL. SURE SEEMS LIKE IT. ABSOLUTELY NO LE AFTERHOURS. PROVEN FACT. PRETTY BOYS ON A MOTORCYCLE 7AM TO 4PM. WE PAY FOR THEIR LIFESTYLE, RETIREMENT, ETC. WE GET PARTIAL, MINIMAL PROTECTION. THANKS. NO VOTES IN YOUR FAVOR FROM NOW ON. ESPECIALLY AFTER PAYIING 30MIL TO FLOYDS FAMILY AND ACTUALLY GOING TO TRIAL TO DEFEND.
