Police search for gunman who robbed Family Dollar store in Socorro

SOCORRO, Texas -- Police were searching for a gunman who held up a dollar store in Socorro on Friday evening.

Authorities said the armed robbery took place about 5:25 p.m. at the Family Dollar store at 100005 Alameda Avenue.

Police were called, but the robber fled by the time officers arrived at the store.

No one was injured in the hold up, police said in a statement.

Authorities asked that anyone who may have information about the robbery to call Socorro police at (915) 858-6983.
