Fabens man shot dead by family member on Thanksgiving

MGN

EL PASO, Texas -- A Fabens man was shot dead on Thanksgiving by a member of his family during what authorities called a case of "family violence and criminal mischief."

El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies identified the victim as 46-year-old Felix Rivera III.

Deputies said they found his body was found just after 5 p.m. Thursday at 1021 NE Pinkerton Street.

The family member who shot Rivera surrendered to deputies, but officials didn't release that person's identity or indicate if any charges would be filed.

The Sheriff's Office said its Major Crimes Unit was investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting.
