Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to discuss lifting of Title 42
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- On Wednesday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas will update the public on the expected lifting of Title 42.
The Covid-19 Pandemic era policy gave Border Patrol officials the authority to expel migrants who came to the U.S. seeking asylum.
The City of El Paso saw a significant rise in migrants days prior to the lifting of the policy.
Mayorkas plans on addressing planning and operations once the health order has been lifted.
The press conference will be held at 9 a.m. mountain time.
