Friday, Nov. 08 9:00 AM White House acting chief of staff expected to skip deposition with House Committees as part of impeachment inquiry – House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and Committee on Oversight and Reform due to jointly conduct deposition with White House Acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, with the transcript to be part of the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, although he is expected to reject the invitation to appear – despite the Committees having reminded him of the lengthy precedent of high-level White House aides giving deposition to House committees – with the administration having previously informed House Democrats that it is refusing to comply with the inquiry, calling it unconstitutional * The Committees are investigating ‘the extent to which President Trump jeopardized national security by pressing Ukraine to interfere with the 2020 election and by withholding security assistance provided by Congress to help Ukraine counter Russian aggression, as well as any efforts to cover up these matters’
