Brianna Chavez, anchor/reporter

Brianna Chavez is an anchor and reporter at KVIA ABC-7.
Brianna started her career at ABC-7 as an intern back in 2018. After her internship, she officially joined the team as an Associate Producer and an Administrative Assistant.
Born and raised in El Paso, Brianna grew up watching ABC-7 at her grandma’s house after school.
As a little girl, she was always glued to the TV watching local news or late night talk shows (even if her parents told her to go to sleep earlier).
She knew she wanted to pursue a degree in journalism after joining the newspaper staff during her junior year at Loretto Academy.
Brianna is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso. While attending UTEP, she solidified her passion for reporting and journalism while working for The Prospector, UTEP’s student-run newspaper.
Some notable stories include sitting down with former UTEP President Diana Natalicio as her 30-year tenure came to an end.
She is the oldest of three children. She is a huge Houston Texans, Astros, and Rockets fan.
In her free time, you can catch her spending time with her family and friends, cooking with her grandma, watching TV (like the Bachelor or Bachelorette, not matter what anyone says about it) and doing yoga.
Brianna is excited to cover stories in her hometown and eager to get to know the people that make the Borderland so great.
