Michael Gordon joined the KVIA team after spending the previous four years as a reporter in northern Michigan and Washington D.C.
He is new to the Borderland, but is familiar with life in the Southwest as he attended Arizona State University and earned a journalism degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism.
Prior to that, Michael was born and raised in the Washington D.C. area where he became familiar with the political happenings of the nation's capital.
Michael spent two years covering events in and around his hometown while working as a bureau reporter with WDVM News.
During that time, Michael covered a number of political rallies, protests and important political figures on Capitol Hill.
Michael's work with KVIA includes both night and day side reporting from around the community.
He was drawn to journalism by the ability of reporters to positively impact their communities and providing checks against possible abuses of power.
Despite his die hard love for D.C. sports, including his beloved Washington Redskins, Michael is thrilled to be a part of the El Paso/Las Cruces community.
When he's not busy covering the community, Michael enjoys exploring parks with his dog Flynn and hitting the golf course.
