Over 200 new El Paso virus cases for 5th day in a row; no new deaths

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The Department of Public Health reported 248 new coronavirus cases, and no new deaths Monday morning.

It marks the fifth day in a row that El Paso has surpassed 200 new cases. The death toll has stayed at 135 since Friday.

There have now been 7,461 confirmed cases in El Paso, of those 2,780 are considered active -- a new high. The health department reported 4,546 total known recoveries.

Hospitalizations reached a new high yet again. There are 218 Covid-19 patients in El Paso hospital. Roughly a third, or 70 of those patients, are in the ICU; and 28 are on ventilators.
