Border Highway near downtown El Paso reopens after crews put out car fire

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A car fire brought traffic to a standstill Friday morning.

It happened just after 8 a.m. on Loop 375 at Santa Fe near downtown. The car caught on fire on the portion of the highway just below the international bridge.

Loop 375 was briefly closed in both directions but has since reopened.

The fire department said no one was hurt.
