Garland man accused in deadly shooting extradited to El Paso
EL PASO, Texas – A 49-year-old man from Garland was returned to El Paso by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force on Thursday, May 12.
Luis Renteria is charged with the murder of 16-year-old Isaiah Lerma.
El Paso police say the shooting happened Dec. 30 on the 4000 Block of Durazno. Police say an argument escalated into the deadly shooting. Two other people were hospitalized in the incident due to gunshot wounds.
Renteria is being held on a $500,000 bond for the murder charge. He's also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. That bond is set at $250,000.
