EL PASO, Texas - El Paso Police Special Traffic Investigators say Cecil Blesh O'Neal III, 48, was hit and killed by a car on Saturday, June 18, just after 10 p.m. at the 9500 block of McCombs.

Investigators say O'Neal was crossing the southbound lanes when he was struck.

Video surveillance shows a car speeding. According to investigators, after hitting O'Neal, the car continued heading southbound on McCombs.

Police say the vehicle may be a 2004 to 2014 maroon Mitsubishi and will have damage to the front right corner and missing the right side mirror.

This is the 37th traffic fatality of the year compared to 30 at the same time last year.

Police say contributing factors to this fatality are O'Neal crossing at an undesignated and dark area and the car's high rate of speed.

Anyone with information is asked to call El Paso Police at 915-832-4400 or call CrimeStoppers at 915-566-8477 (TIPS).
