EL PASO, Texas -- A 34-year-old El Paso man posed as a "local juvenile" on social media, using that account to share images of child pornography, according to El Paso police.

Police arrested Jose Ray Jarvis on August 1. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for online impersonation, two counts of promotion of child pornography, and nine counts of possession of child pornography.

According to investigators, police were tipped off about the online impersonation on Sept. 6, 2020.

Investigators say they later found images of invasive visual recordings taken of four unsuspecting victims, including:

  • On July 2, 2022, two different recordings at a local second-hand thrift store show a woman
wearing a blue shirt, black skirt, and carrying a turquoise handbag. A separate incident at
the same location shows a woman wearing a black skirt and carrying a handbag with the letter B
    in silver.
  • On July 2, 2022, near Southwest University Park, a recording shows a woman wearing a
grey dress and a black backpack-style purse with mushroom designs.
  • On June 13, 2022, at a Lowes Supermarket, a recording shows a woman wearing a blue
polka-dot dress and carrying a white purse.

Police ask if you believe you may be one of the people in the above incidents to please call them at 915-832-4400.
