Jefferson High School lockdown lifted; student taken into custody after knife found

EL PASO, Texas -- Jefferson High School was placed on lockdown between 3 and 4:30 p.m. Wednesday due to a report of a person with a weapon.

According to officials, one person was taken into custody and a weapon was found. The weapon was a knife, a violation of the student code of conduct.

Officials did not say whether the person taken into custody was a student or not.

El Paso ISD police and Texas Tech PD were involved in the response.
