Colorado woman struck by train while being held inside police car

(CNN) – A road rage suspect is lucky to be alive after a train struck the police cruiser she was being held in.

The incident took place in Colorado on September 16., but the bodycam footage has just been released.

Yareni Rios-Gonzalez was pulled over by Platteville Police near Fort Lupton after a reported traffic violation.

Officers left her in a squad car parked on the train tracks while searching her truck for a gun.

Minutes later, a Freight Train barreled into the cruiser pushing it into a field.

Rios-Gonzalez was hospitalized with multiple injuries to her head and back, as well as a broken arm and nine broken ribs.

No charges have been filed in the case yet, but the officer who left the car on the tracks has been placed on leave.
