EL PASO, Texas -- Two people were hurt, one seriously, in a Thursday evening traffic crash along an Interstate 10 exit in west El Paso that also led to an arrest.

That crash happened about 6 p.m. along I-10 westbound at the Mesa Street off-ramp.

Police said a pickup truck struck a stalled car at the ramp.

The two people inside the stalled vehicle were rushed to local hospitals, with one of the pair suffering life-threatening injuries.

Meantime, police said they had taken into custody the driver who triggered the crash. Officers didn't indicate what charges he might face.

The off-ramp was shut down for hours following the wreck as traffic investigators examined the crash scene.
