Police Arrest 3 In Connection To Credit Theft Investigation
EL PASO — Police officers take advantage of a traffic stopto arrestthree suspects in connection to a credit theft investigation.
Ruben Chavez, 31, of the 11500 block of Nancy; Christian Chavez, 21, of the 11500 block of Nancy; and April Rubio, 18, of the 14500 block of Hendrick, in Horizon City, were arrested shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday. They are all charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (Forgery).
According to police officials, investigators at the Pebble Hills Regional Command Center were conducting a follow up investigation to a credit burglary at the Kohl’s Department Store located in the 1300 block of George Dieter.
Theinvestigation determinedChavez, Christian, and Rubio allegedly used a stolen credit card to make several purchases at the store, police officials added. Officers tailing the suspects arrested them after their vehicle was stopped for an alleged traffic violation.
Investigators were able to recover items purchased with the stolen card and several other items that had been reported stolen, police officials added.
