Bliss Water Supply Tested After Bacteria Found Friday

FORT BLISS –Analysts from William Beaumont Army Medical Center and the Army Corps of Engineer continue to investigate bacteria found in the water supply in the eastern portion of Fort Bliss, officials on post said in a news release.

The water also has low chlorine levels, officials added. The discovery was made during routine pre-deployment training by WBAMC’s Preventive Medical branch.Nofurther positive results have been detected in the water supply but monitoring of the supply will continue.In the meantime, soldiers in the area continue to utilize bottled water. Port-a-johns, hand washing stations and personal hygiene facilities have been installed in adjacent buildings.
