Former Deputy Constable Arraigned On Two Assault Charges
EL PASO, Texas — Mario Ramos, a former deputy constable involved in an August shooting incident, was arraigned Monday in district court on a sexual assault charge and a separateaggravated assault charge.
He pleaded notguilty to both charges.
Ramos was fired Dec. 1 due to “off-duty misconduct”, Constable Alex Gamboa told ABC-7 at the time.
Ramos was arrested Dec. 3 for sexual assault and was released on bond a short time later. According tothe indictment, Ramos attempted to rape a woman on May 28, 2008.
The aggravated assault charge stems from an Aug. 16 incidentin which Ramos has been accused of shooting a man during a chase in far east El Paso.
