El Paso Police identify motorcyclist killed in Saturday collision

El Paso Police have identified the man killed in a motorcycle collision on Saturday afternoon in the 6100 block of Gateway West in Central El Paso.

Thomas Adam Wade, 22, of the 4700 block of SM Melnick, was traveling west on Gateway West on a red Yamaha motorcycle. At the same time a gray Mercury Mariner, driven by a 62-year-old female entered Gateway West from a private driveway.

Police officials said the motorcycle collided with the driver’s side door of the SUV and Wade died at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, whose name was not released, was transported to an area hospital for treatment. At this time the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.

Wade was a soldier at Fort Bliss, according to post officials. Fort Bliss officials said Wade is the fourth post soldier to die in a motorcycle accident this year.
