Teachers who register today get free tickets to Saturday’s UTEP game

All teachers within Region 19 are invited to attend The University of Texas at El Paso football game against Southern Methodist University on Saturday, Oct. 6.

The honorary football game will mark the second event of UTEP’s Honoring Education for Raising Opportunities of Excellence (HEROES) series meant to recognize area students and educators for their hard work and excellence.

“As we welcomed nearly 23,000 students to UTEP this fall, we were once again reminded of the critically important work that [teachers] do to raise the academic aspirations and attainment of the talented young people of this region and prepare them for college,” said President Diana Natalicio in her invitation to local teachers.

She added, “You are our ‘HEROES’ and we would like to celebrate our powerful partnership by inviting you and your family to join us for [this] special event in your honor.”

Each teacher can receive up to four free tickets to the game once they register at the HEROES Football Game webpage at https://urevent.utep.edu/ei/getdemo.ei?id=92&s=_2GG0QB22E. The deadline for ticket reservation is midnight on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

The first HEROES event revolved around recognizing outstanding area high school graduates who are now attending the University. The next event will honor area school principals.
