State Rep. District 76 race headed for runoff

The State Rep. District 76 race is headed to a runoff but who will be in the runoff is still up on the air with combined election day and early voting results released Tuesday evening.

Challenger Cesar Blanco has 2,300 votes or 42 percent of the vote; challenger Norma Chavez has 1,614 votes or 29 percent of the vote; and incumbent Naomi R. Gonzalez has 1,604 votes or 29 percent of the vote.

If a candidate does not get 50 percent of the vote plus one vote, the race will go to a runoff between the top two vote getters in the race.
