El Paso Police charge 3 in Northeast assault

El Paso Police have arrested and charged three men in an alleged aggravated assault that occurred at a Northeast hotel just before 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18.

According to police, 32-year-old William Pinedo, of the 13000 block of Uvalde; 42-year-old Mario Contreras, of the 9400 block of Waverly; and 20-year-old Darryl Brown, of the 3300 block of E. Wyoming, were allegedly engaged in a confrontation with 29-year-old Jason Aguirre and 32-year-old Pablo Tovar at 8601 Dyer.

Police said the confrontation escalated to a physical altercation and that Pinedo, Contreras, and Brown worked together to allegedly assault Aguirre that resulted in him being struck in the head with a brick and also sustaining a puncture wound to his upper torso.

Pinedo, Contreras, and Waverly were all arrested and charged engaging in organized criminal activity/aggravated assault, two counts each. They were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on bonds of $40,000 each.
