for the new mexico state universty home opener. the aggies host georgia state at aggie memorial stadium this saturday. kick off is at 6 o’clock. n-m-s- u’s athletic director wants to “stuff th stadium,” so the ags can star this football season in front of a sellout crowd. welcome back to abc-seven at six, i’m estela cas. reporter jamie warren is live from aggie memorial stadium tonight … … with our new mexico mobile newsroom. jamie? as of about 10 minutes ago i’m told there are about 2,000 tickets remaing. pkg 7:51 lou were a couple thousand shy of a packed stadium which is unbelievable for a first game of a year the drive to see some aggie spirit is what prompted 40 businesses to buy a lot of tickets and give them away to fans 12:36:43 marcy one thing about this town and the business community is we certainly we’re very collaborative but we’re also very competive restaurant owner marcy dickerson says it was a competition between business owners around the community to see who could fill up the most seats 11:30 i think were going to have a huge showing of not only fans but people who couldn’t normally participate stand up for only 5 dollars you can have a seat here at aggie memorial stadium to watch a division one football game. but you better hurry! because tickets are going fast. 19:38:49 mario moccia by selling every ticket in the house you should be guaranteed a pretty darn good crowd athletic director mario moccia tells me the reason for the sell out campaign was to get people excited about nmsu football 23:32:32 we want them to say when they’re here wow this is big time tickets are currently going for 5 10 and 15 dollars… and while selling about 30,000 seats may seem like a big challenge… these business owners, along with moccia, are optimistic 13:36:19 i think its going to be a really fun experience for people you know we certainly support mario and his leadership team and just getting people back out there the last time nmsu sold out their home opener was in 2005 against utep. kick off saturday is at 6 pm. jamie, we’re all behind the aggies this season and hope they do well. thank you for
