New Northgate Transit Center offers Sun Metro passengers new amenities

Sun Metro bus riders in Northeast El Paso have a new transit center that offers new amenities to passengers.

Sun Metro had a grand opening Wednesday morning to introduce the public to the new transit center.

The approximately $15.5 million project is Sun Metro’s newest addition to its system.

The new facility has new amenities for passengers to enjoy.

Passengers can now wait for their bus inside the air conditioned transit center which offers Wi-Fi, advanced security and electronic arrival and departure announcements on TV screens throughout the center.

Concessions are also available for passengers to grab a snack while they wait for their bus to arrive.

If passengers would rather wait outside, a plaza area right outside the transit center provides seating with shade canopies and bike racks.

The Northgate Transit Center is located at 9348 Dyer Street.
