Santa visits students at Mesita Early Childhood Development Center

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Santa took a little time out of his busy schedule to take requests from students at Mesita Early Childhood Development Center this December.

Their wide eyes and bid smiles said it all as they chatted with the big man, telling him all the things they would like to receive for Christmas.

"It's not about a material gift," Santa explained to ABC-7. "Sometimes it's a simple smile or hug. Giving gifts to those in need or just a smile is beautiful, but sometimes you an give them a handshake and that's all it takes.

Of course, St. Nick asked the children if they have been naughty or nice, and reminded everyone that there is always time to make it onto that nice list. He also encouraged everyone to spread Christmas spirit every chance they get.

"Keep giving, keep loving, keep sharing and be around each other because we don't know what someone else is going through," Santa reminded us.
