BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A retired Republican state senator from North Dakota has been charged with traveling to Prague intending pay for sex with a minor, and with receiving images depicting child sexual abuse. The four-page federal indictment against longtime state Sen. Ray Holmberg was unsealed Monday. Prosecutors say the 79-year-old Holmberg traveled to the Czech Republic repeatedly from June 2011 to November 2016 for the purpose of paying for sex with a person under 18 years old. Holmberg was arrested early Monday and was released after pleading not guilty during a court appearance. His attorney, Mark Friese, says the allegations are from more than a decade ago.
