Richardson Says He Isn’t Giving Up Presidential Bid For Senate

WASHINGTON (AP) – Governor Bill Richardson is repeating that he’s not going to give up his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination to run for the Senate seat that will be left vacant by the retirement of Pete Domenici.

Richardson has repeatedly said he’s running for president, not Senate. His spokesman, Tom Reynolds, says that if Richardson isn’t the Democratic nominee, he will continue serving the rest of his term as governor.

Reynolds says Richardson is not leaving any door open to run for the Senate.
