Big Businesses Invest In Far East El Paso, Invite Growth
EL PASO, TX. – “Go East, young man” — far East El Paso! It’s a slightly different message thanmany areused to, but developers and nationwide businesses are listening to that advice.
Evidence of that this week as a new JC Penney store opens on Loop 375 near Montwood. Not only is development near the intersection of Loop 375 and Montwood changing the face of far East El Paso, it’s evidence of a changing Sun City economy.

And nowJC Penney. It sounds like a shopper’s Mecca! And it’s all out onEl Paso’s far East side. Local leaders in the business community say this booming business isn’t just good for the eastside. It means more jobs.
Those stores pay into the local tax base; also important for future growth. Local leaders say it’s evidence that more and more outside companies are prepared to make big investments in El Paso.
“It is a good opportunity for the whole community, not just the jobs, not just the taxes, but it speaks well of our community, it says that we are a vibrant community that is growing,” said Ana Gonzalez of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
