EPPD Officers Arrest 1 After Gunshots, Chase

EL PASO, Tx. -Gunshots lead to aSunday eveningpolice chase in the city’s Lower Valley.

According to EPPD Spokesman Chris Mears officers received a ‘shots fired’ call just after 7pm Sunday night at the corner of Ralpheene and Williamette. Officials say no one was hit by the gunshot, but the alleged gunman fled the scene in a Mitsubishi Montero SUV.

The pursuit then ended at the house on the corner of Borrett and Reindeer, just about the 400 block of Borrett. Witnesses tell ABC-7 thatpolice were chasing the alleged gunman when the man tried to turn on Reindeer.

Officials and neighbors say the driver hit a parked car – with people inside – at the same house. A 28-year-old woman by the name of Claudia Anguin was thrown out of the vehicle. She suffered a broken leg and was taken to the hospital.

Anguin’s family members tell ABC-7 they shaken up by the incident but they’re expecting her to be ok.

Police arrested the alleged gunman and say he may be facing charges including evading arrest.
