First Responders Use Flood-Damaged Homes For Training Exercises

EL PASO, TX. – City officials and firefighters find a new use for several homes in Central El paso, condemned after Storm 2006.

Firefighters will conduct training excercises at 6 of 10 homes condemned in the Saipan area – those homes are now city-owned.

Drills will focus on search and resue, and ventilation, as well as other training routines. Fire officials say live training situations are invaluable as learning tools.

Residents in the area are advised of the plan and there will be traffic control measures in place. The excercises began Sunday and will continue through the 23rd ofOctober.
