Overnight Crash Leaves Area Without Power

EL PASO, TX. – An early morning crash on Monday ends in darkness for residents in far East El Paso.

Theaccidenthappened justbefore 2 a.m. near the intersection of Montana and Dominican. Officials say a vehicle ran into a pole which knocked down power lines.

ABC-7got reports of the power being out as far as several blocks away. Officials say the person driving the truck just took off after the crash.

There was no word on any injuries. Work crews from El Paso Electric were able to restore power to the area quickly, but about 20 homes were without power until about 7 a.m. Officials said all was back to normal by 11:25 a.m.

Investigators are stillsearching for the driver of the vehicle.
