Lockdown at Bel Air High over, student taken into custody
Update: El Paso Police say one student was taken into custody. ABC-7 is working to learn more about what led police to take the student into custody.
Update: District officials say the lockdown is over and that parents can now pick up students at the front office.
Update: The district sent ABC-7 the following statement.
"As a precautionary measure, Bel Air High School was placed on lockdown at about 10 o’clock this morning after administration was notified of a possible threat made toward the school. The El Paso Police Department was immediately notified and are on site to investigate the situation. All students are safe in their classrooms and under direct adult supervision."
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Ysleta ISD says that the large police presence currently at Bel Air High School is a "precautionary measure."
The school is located at 731 North Yarbrough Drive in El Paso's Lower Valley.
