El Paso Police arrest man on sexual performance by a child charge
The El Paso Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Unit, comprised of Federal Bureau of Investigation Agents and El Paso Police Detectives have arrested and charged a central El Paso man with sexual performance by a child.
According to police, the investigation revealed that Jacob Martinez allegedly used the Internet-based classified section of Craigslist to seek females in an effort to promote them to become “porn stars.”
Martinez was contacted by a child younger than 18 years of age, and allegedly communicated with, and induced the child to engage in sexual conduct or sexual performance with him, according to police.
The communication and events occurred between October 29 and November 25, 2012. The ICAC Task Force Unit arrested Martinez on Thursday, January 10, 2013. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a bond of $50,000.00. The Craigslist job posting has been taken down and ICAC investigators continue their investigation.
