Gallop for Hope returns Saturday

LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Bridle Up Hope Las Cruces is inviting the community to run or walk for a cause during its Gallop for Hope 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run Fundraiser.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 5, at 8 a.m. at the La Llorona Multi-Use Path Trailhead in Las Cruces. Participants of all ages and abilities can take part in either the 5K or 1-mile fun run.

Bridle Up Hope Las Cruces is a nonprofit equine-assisted learning organization that uses horses and life-skills programs to help participants build confidence, resilience and positive habits.

Money raised during the Gallop for Hope will support the organization's programs, scholarships, program horses and efforts to make its services accessible to the community.

Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in the 5K and the top three boys and girls in the 1-mile event. The first 200 paid registrants will also receive an event shirt.

Community members can also support the fundraiser by sponsoring, volunteering or helping spread the word about the event.
