ABC-7 StormTrack Weather: Tracking several warm and mostly dry days in the Borderland with a chance for an isolated storm

This afternoon, I am forecasting a high of 84 degrees with a nighttime low around 66. Isolated storms are possible across the Borderland this afternoon/evening, most of the action is expected to be in the mountains. Storms are then expected to fizzle out tonight.

Friday, the Borderland may see mostly dry conditions with an isolated storm or two.

This weekend, the pattern will remain fairly similar... warm with isolated showers and thunderstorms!

A high pressure system, that has kept things quiet and warm, is expected to shift to the east which may open the door for rain chances this weekend through early next week.

Newly formed Tropical Storm Simon which is expected to rapidly increase to a Category 4 Hurricane in the Pacific before it makes landfall and run parallel along the Western Mexican Coast. Some spaghetti plots were forecasting the center to pass near the Borderland yesterday... now it is expected to pass to the east of the area.

Some moisture from Simon may move into the Borderland. Either way, it will be significantly weaker due to it being ripped up over the Mexican interior.
