Former UTEP football player arrested on sexual assault charge

A former UTEP football player was arrested Thursday, Nov. 12 in connection with a sexual assault that occurred on the UTEP campus in May.

David Hamm, 20, was arrested by the McNeese State University Police Department in Lake Charles, Louisiana on fugitive from justice charges and is pending extradition back to El Paso for one count of sexual assault.

Hamm was indicted on the sexual assault charge on Oct. 21, according to El Paso County court documents.

At the time of his arrest, Hamm was listed as an active member of the McNeese State football team.

Hamm was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Facility in Lake Charles, Louisiana pending his extradition back to El Paso.
