and if you’ve ever been on youtube or social media, then you’ve probably seen videos just like these! they’re home videos of young cup stackers who are trying to go down in the record books as the fastest in the world. and now a group of el paso students are hoping for the same. and we’re certain they’ll do a lot better than some celebrities. remember when ellen gave cup stacking a shot? let’s just say… she’s keeping her day job for a reason. welcome back to abc-seven at six, i’m rick cabrera. and i’m estela cas. stop what you’re doing for a second… give your eyes a little rub… now focus. what you’re about to see is not the result of hollywood special effects. it’s just some really talented young el pasoans. tonight’s estela’s escuelas… … takes you to south loop elementary school where students are looking to take part in breaking a world record! it’s all part of what’s being called “stack up!” and it’ sponsored by the “world sport stackin association.” the school’s gy was packed with stackers, teachers and other supporters, cheering them on today. they joined stackers around the world as they tried to break the previous record of just over 592- thousand people … all stacking… at the same time.. for a full 30 minutes. at south loop, 80 students were added to the global bunch: when all was said and done… a lot of tired kids… and a lot of youngsters and done… a lot of tired kids… and a lot of youngsters wondering if they broke the record! well, we’re wondering too! the organizers will pass on the total count to the guinness book of world records for official recognition. asnd then it’s up to guiness to make the announcement. from all of us here at abc-seven, good luck kids! rick? and looking ahead to our late report… at the height of the cartel violence in juarez … the
