Remaining El Paso soccer teams eliminated from playoffs

Entering Saturday, both the Del Valle boys and San Elizario boys were the only 2 teams left in the high school soccer playoffs. Unfortunately, the postseason run for both teams came to an end as they were eliminated in a 1-0 loss and a 2-1 defeat.

Del Valle was shutout against Wichita Falls 1-0 in large part due to the outstanding goal keeping for the Coyotes. While San Elizario had chances of their own but couldn’t capitalize as they lost to Bridgeport who advanced to the next round.

San Elizario leaves the postseason in a good place considering this was a rebuilding year. The Eagles finished 2017 at 15-5-3 with four trophies and five rounds in the playoffs. The Eagles last won the state title back in 2015.
