El Paso native involved in viral American Airlines confrontation

A man in the middle of a confrontation aboard an American Airlines flight is an El Paso native, according to the El Paso Times.

An American Airlines flight attendant is on paid leave after a confrontation involving a passenger. The confrontation was posted on Facebook by a passenger, and the video has gone viral.

Witnesses said a flight attendant aggressively removed a stroller away from a mother, because it was supposed to be checked in at the gate. As he took the stroller, witnesses said he almost hit the mother’s baby.

In the video, you can see the woman crying. Then, Fierro stands up and confronts the flight attendant.

“Hey bud, hey bud, you, you do that to me and I’ll knock you flat,” Fierro said.

The flight attendant, who is visibly angry, points his finger at Fierro and says, “Hey, you stay out of this!”

The flight attendant then taunts Fierro, telling him to hit him. The two men never exchange blows. The woman in question was later upgraded to first class, and American Airlines issued an apology.

When the flight landed Fierro spoke with WFAA, the ABC affiliate in Dallas.

“A baby almost got hurt. That’s what just fired me up, so that was it. I don’t want to make a big deal about it,” Fierro said.

The El Paso Times reports Fierro attended Coronado High School. His LinkedIn account shows he attended UTEP for a year, before graduating from the University of North Texas.

Fierro is the president of K&S Insurance in Rockwall, Texas. According to his bio on the page, he is a board member of the Associated General Contractors of both Dallas and El Paso.

ABC-7 reached out to Fierro, leaving calls and messages, but they were not returned.
