NMSU to hold fundraiser amid state budget crisis

With state funding in a state of limbo, NMSU is launching a campaign to raise $125 million.

The university will hold “an energized event” this Friday unveiling the campaign’s theme. Country music star Bri Bagwell is set to perform at the event. The campaign will last through 2019, and aims to create $50 million in new scholarship endowments.

New Mexico State University Chancellor Garrey Carruthers announced last month that the university is considering merging colleges and cutting programs amid ongoing state budget cuts.
