UTEP Basketball Preseason Preview: Saturday at the Haskins Center

The contestants in the dunk challenge and three-point shootout are lined up for Saturday’s UTEP Basketball Preseason Preview. Fans can get a first look at the 2017-18 Miners, with proceeds helping fund the team’s trip to Costa Rica next week. General admission tickets are $10 and are available by visiting the UTEP Ticket Center or by calling (915) 747-5234.

The UTEP Basketball Preseason Preview starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 12) in the Don Haskins Center.

Please note that all fans should enter the arena via the East, North or West concourse. The tunnel will not serve as a public entrance for this event.

Competing in the dunk challenge will be newcomers Isiah Osborne and Trey Wade and returnee Paul Thomas. The three-point shootout boasts a field of six, with holdovers Jake Flaggert, Omega Harris and Trey Touchet joining incoming recruits Evan Gilyard, Kobe Magee and Osborne.

Following the dunk and three-point contests, the UTEP returnees will battle the newcomers in a 40-minute scrimmage.

Fans can vote on the starting lineup for the first game in Costa Rica by filling out a ballot (available as they enter the arena) and dropping it in the ballot box in the East concourse of the arena.

Following the scrimmage, the Miners will sign complimentary 2017-18 schedule posters on the court.

Concessions will be sold.

The UTEP Ticket Center has two locations, one at 2901 North Mesa (next to the Haskins Center) and the other on the East side of El Paso at 1452 North Zaragoza Suite A500. Tickets are also available at www.ticketmaster.com with surcharges applying.
