8-month-old baby killed in crash on I-10 near Artcraft

El Paso police have identified the person killed in a crash on I-10 and Artcraft Road Sunday night.

Investigators say 8-month-old Alberto Zapata died after the pickup he was riding in with his father and mother rolled over on the freeway ending on its side in the center median.

Police say the child was properly restrained in a child safety seat.

The baby was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The child’s mother, 20-year-old Iliana Quintero, was also injured and taken to the hospital with her child.

The boy’s father, 21-year-old Alberto Zapata, was driving the vehicle, he was not injured
