Chihuahuas fall 4-3 to Reno in early game Wednesday
The Reno Aces got a key RBI triple from former Chihuahua Cody Decker and managed to beat the Chihuahuas 4-3 in an early game Wednesday.
El Paso took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run by Franmil Reyes – his sixth homer of the season.
But Reno would respond in the top of the fifth with a three-run inning. Cody Decker drove in one of those runs with a triple on a deep fly ball to center field that bounced off the wall.
Reyes then connected on his seventh homer of the year in the sixth to cut Reno’s lead to 4-3, but that would be the last run either team scored. Reyes became the first Chihuahuas player to hit multiple homers in a game this season.
El Paso fell to 17-10 with the loss while Reno improved to 9-18.
The two teams meet for the fourth and final game of the current series Thursday at 6:35 p.m.
Decker finished 2-3 in the game with a walk and has now recorded at least one hit in each of the three games played in the series so far.
