Louisiana wildlife agents find body of missing boater

Louisiana wildlife and fisheries agents have found the body of a pastor missing since a boating accident Wednesday in Plaquemines Parish.

Enforcement agents along with the sheriff’s office found the body of 85-year-old Rev. Donald Tabb about 10:30 a.m. Saturday near Southwest Pass, about 10 miles from where he was reported missing.

Officials say Tabb was headed out to fish with two friends in the Gulf of Mexico when a large wave capsized their 27-foot boat. The Advocate reports those close to the group have said Tabb directed 60-year-old Patrick Anderson of Baton Rouge to find their friend, 86-year-old Jack Frey, and take him to shore. Anderson did, but Frey, of Magnolia, Texas, had drowned.

Tabb founded LSU’s The Chapel on the Campus in 1972 and led it until 2001.
